RNAi
RNAi is a powerful technique that can be used to determine the function of a gene. By introduction of dsRNA into a model system, targeted gene expression can be knocked-down, hopefully resulting in an observable phenotype indicative of gene function.
RNAi experiments have been carried out on the CDH1 ortholog in C. elegans. The resulting phenotype was determined using WormBase. No reproducible mutant phenotypes were observed in the RNAi knockdown of CDH1 in C. elegans.
